Cafe’s flats plans put forward

14 January 2016

Plans have been put forward to reduce the size of the Grange Cafe in Corporation Road and convert most of the building into four one-bedroom flats.

The application by Mr Mohammed Ali says with “very poor collection” from the restaurant on the ground floor, the proposal is to convert the five-bedroom flat upstairs and half the space used by the cafe downstairs into small flats.

But there has been an objection by neighbouring residents who say they have already reported issues around noise and refuse.

They told the council’s planning officials that the flats would be “incredibly small” and overall “the neighhbourhood doesn’t benefit from multi-occupancy housing of this kind”.
