Drug dealing is PACT priority

18 April 2016

Residents at the latest Grangetown PACT meeting have made street drug-dealing a priority for the next month.

April’s meeting was held outdoors – after a mix-up over the venue!

Suspicions of drug dealing in the north Grangetown area were raised and police are to target the issue in the next month, alongside ongoing operations in the area. Residents were asked to report any descriptions of suspicious cars or people to 101 – even anonymously – to help build up intelligence.

Police already have heightened patrols via waymarkers in the Windsor Quay and Pentre Gardens area, in which drugs are also issues. Ferry Road is another area, involving shoplifting at the retail park.

Residents again raised issues regarding fly-tipping and litter, while abandoned cars and lorry deliveries in Clare Road were other issues.

* Police and Halfords in Penarth Road are holding a free event for secure screws to be fitted to car number plates to prevent thefts. This is happening on Saturday 23rd April, 10am-4pm.
