Footballers from Grangetown will be taking to the Millennium Stadium turf on Wednesday night to take on a team of ex-Cardiff City pros and local police.
The Somaliland Community football team – including a handful of players from Grangetown – have reached the final of the Community Cohesion Cup.
They saw off teams representing Yemen, Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia and Eritrea, Sudan and Kurdistan at the Marl to reach the final.
Their opponents now will be a South Wales Police select XI which will include other “boys in blue” – ex Bluebirds stars Damon Searle, Lee Jarman, Jason Fowler and Derek Brazil.
The purpose of this fun event is to bring together the people of Cardiff, break down some barriers, improve communication and build trust within key communities across the city.
It is free entry and kick off is 6pm.
