The Grangetown community is being asked to support a fund-raising funday in memory of a man murdered a year ago.
The event, at St Paul’s community hall, is being organised in aid of Russell Peachey’s children. An evening event is also due to be held at Grange Albion club.
The funday on Saturday 6th August (2pm-5pm) will include kids’ activities, face-painting and food and refreshments.
It will come a few days after the anniversary of Russell’s death following an attack off Penarth Road. A man was jailed for his murder earlier this year.
The death of the one time Grangetown Primary and Fitzalan pupil, 35, who came from a large family, shocked the community. Hundreds attended his funeral. He was decribed as “respectful, well-mannered, caring and was held with high regard within the local community.”
He left two young sons.
Tickets for the funday are available on the day or from Holmesdale St post office or the Albion club. The evening event – which will include an auction and raffle – costs £5.
