Library hub fun-day marks new era

1 March 2016

After the wait, the hard work and time to settle in, it’s now time to have a little party to celebrate the re-opening of Grangetown Library as the community hub.

A fun-day is taking place on Thursday 3rd March (2pm-5pm), including balloon modelling, storytime, a Bollywood Zumba taster session, animal corner and live music.

Grangetown Local History Society will have a display, and there will be food stalls and presentations by local organisations.

A raffle will also give you the chance to win prizes, including tickets for Cardiff City and Cardiff Blues.

The community room will also be named by local schoolchildren. This is available in the evenings and has a separate entrance so it can operate out-of-hours.

Cabinet member for community development Councillor Peter Bradbury, said: “I’m looking forward to an opportunity to celebrate our fantastic new community facility in Grangetown.

“There will be lots of free family fun activities and if people in the area haven’t visited yet, Thursday afternoon will be the perfect opportunity to find out more about the services on offer at the hub.”

There’s a list of regular events and organisations at the library hub on our directory page
