‘Rustic’ look for Grangetown tower blocks

1 September 2016

The Channel View flats are to get a revamp, with a “rustic look” promised to blend in with private apartments nearby.

The council-owned 1970s high rises will get a new look from the outside, while a new entrance lobby will be built.

There will also be cycle stands for the first time, a new, larger bin store and a clearing of Japanese knotweed. The conservatory at the back of the building will be demolished.

The plans have been accepted by the council, with the report saying it would “create a rustic look to the building, that compliments the colour scheme that was used at Windsor Quay.”
